LEG VEIN REMOVAL

With age, many women begin to experience varicose veins AKA spider veins. Varicose veins are a relatively common condition, and for many people they are a family trait. Women are at least twice as likely as men to develop them. In the U.S. alone, they affect about 23% of all Americans. The Dermatology & Laser Medical Center offers non-invasive treatments that can help reduce the appearance of these unsightly veins within a few treatments.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves an injection of a solution (generally a salt solution) directly into the vein through a very fine needle. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot. You may experience mild discomfort for a few minutes during the treatment. Over time, the vessel turns into scar tissue that fades from view.

*Note: You are not eligible for Sclerotherapy if you are pregnant.

Lasers

Lasers can be an extremely effective and minimally invasive option in removing varicose and spider veins depending on the size and depth of these veins. The Dermatology & Laser Medical Center offers a couple of different lasers to treat leg veins in the most effective way possible with minimal discomfort for the patient.
