It can help improve mild skin discoloration, smooth out the appearance of rough skin, age spots, treat some precancerous skin growths, i.e. actinic keratosis, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, smooth out acne scars, dry up an active acne breakout and restore PH in the skin.

IPL Lasers for acne at Dermatology & Laser Medical Center in Encino & Thousand Oaks

LASERS

Lasers are a crucial step in the acne treatment plan. We offer lasers that can be used in combination with chemical peels, skincare products and some prescription drugs. Lasers can bypass the epidermis and penetrate the skin down to the dermis level and treat the bacteria that cause acne. In addition, they work to resurface the skin, produce collagen, and encourage the cells to turnover faster resulting in a smoother skin texture and less visible acne scars. We offer:

• Intense pulsed light (IPL)

• VBeam® Perfecta

Microneedling for acne scars at Dermatology & Laser Medical Center in Encino & Thousand Oaks

PRP + MICRONEEDLING

PRP (Platelet-rich Plasma) + Microneedling is a remarkable breakthrough in modern, aesthetic treatments. Our physician will first take a sample of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge to separate the growth factors (PRP) and prepare it for your treatment. During microneedling a physician uses a small device with small needles or a derma roller to create micro wounds in the skin that penetrate down to the dermis layer to stimulate collagen production. Following microneedling our physician will use the PRP as a serum and generously apply it to your face to promote natural healing. Patients have seen vast improvement in the appearance of aging and acne scars after just a few treatments.

Prescription Drugs to Treat Acne

prescription drugs

Depending on the severity of your acne, some cases call for prescription medications such as Accutane® to address the problem from the inside out. Topical medications such as Retinae® are also an option for the right patient. These medications require regular checkups from your physician and very limited exposure to the sun as your skin may become extremely sensitive.
